Why should my child see a paediatric dentist rather than a general dentist?

Child Dental Benefit Schedule

Access up to $1052 of free dental treatment for eligible children under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.

We Are Pleased To Treat Families Eligible For The Child Dental Benefits Schedule

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a dental assistance program for eligible children aged 2 to 17 years. It provides cover of up to $1052 over a two-year period for basic dental services, including examinations, X‐rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals, extractions and partial dentures.

The rebate is available to children whose families receive relevant Australian Government payments. To find out if your child qualifies, visit the Department of Human Services website here.

If Medicare deems your child eligible, they will send you a confirmation letter that we ask you bring to your appointment.

Fees for treatment are payable on the day of the appointment and then your rebate is claimable (up to $1052) through Medicare. Depending on the procedure performed, there may be an out-of-pocket expense.
